For projects of $2,000,000 or less including labor and materials, this classification allows the licensee to perform commercial construction in connection with any new structure or addition built, being built, or to be built for the support, shelter and enclosure of persons, animals, or movable property of any kind. This scope includes the supervision of all or any part of the above and includes the management or direct or indirect supervision of any work performed. How Do I Get My License?

Requirements To Get A License
- Identify a Qualifying Party (4 years’ experience)
- Pass 2 State exams: Statutes & Rules, Trade
- Submit Background Check for every person named on the License Application Form
- Form a legal entity
- Obtain and submit proof of a license surety bond

The trade test is equivalent for these classifications and upon passing the CBME and trade exam, either license classification may be applied for without further testing
- The exam is 100 questions taken over 240 minutes.
- The minimum required score to pass is a 70%.
- Candidates may use a silent, nonprinting, non-programmable calculator in the examination center.
