Plumbing and electrical work (greater than 90 volts) is regulated at the state level in Montana.  In the state of Montana, general contractors are required to both register and apply. Both of these processes are completed through the Montana Department of Labor & Industry.

All construction work greater than $2,500 requires registration. To register, please contact the Contractor Registration Unit at 1-406-444-7734.  To apply for a plumbing or electrical license, please contact the Business and Occupational Licensing Bureau at 1-406-841-2300.
