New Hampshire does not require general contractors to be licensed with the state. You should however check with your local city or county to ensure there are no additional requirements. Licensure at the state level is required for some specialty trades, including electrical and plumbing. Electrical and plumbing licenses are regulated at the state level. To apply for an electrical license, please contact the Electricians Licensing Board at (603) 271-2219. To apply for a plumbing license, please contact the Plumbers Licensing Board at (603) 223-4289.  Please select the license/exam that you are interested in.

    New Hampshire Electrical License (Master/Journeyman)

  • New Hampshire International Plumbing Code Practice Tests

To qualify for the journeyman’s licensing exam you need to complete a Board-approved apprenticeship program which includes four years of work experience and four years of education.
