To become a licensed contractor in the state of North Dakota, you must submit an application and provide various business related documentation to the Secretary of State of North Dakota. In addition to a contractor’s license, you may need to obtain other licenses or permits as required by law for a given trade. Specifically, for plumbing and electrical work, you will need to prepare and pass examination and be licensed if working on any projects that exceed $2,000 in value.
