Requirements To Complete

About This License

“Residential Remodeling Contractor” is a person qualified to remodel, alter (non-structurally), repair and maintain existing residential property including houses, condominiums, and apartments, which are limited to repairs, fabricating, installation, maintenance or alteration of drywall, plaster, paneling, siding, soffits, gutters and awnings, floor decking, doors and windows.

Requirements to Obtaining Your License

  • 3 letters of recommendation
  • Notarized Criminal Record History form

Applying For Your License

Application fee is $180. Apply through the The city of Evansville’s Building Commission.

Exam Details

  • Contact Ivy Tech at (812) 429-1418 to schedule and pay required fee for the test.
  • 50 questions.
  • 2 hours.
  • 70% required to pass.
  • Topics include estimating, carpentry, interior finish, exterior finish associated trades, and safety.
