With the exception of an electrical license, Wyoming does not regulate general contractor licensing at the state level. Instead, licenses and regulations are managed at the city, county or at the jurisdiction level. For example, in Laramie county, licensure is managed by the Cheyenne Contractor License Board. If you are seeking to become a contractor in Laramie county, you may need a class A license for general contracting, a class B license for building contracting or a class R license for residential building. The process to complete your contractor license in Cheyenne would include studying and receiving your contractor license, submitting your application and providing proof of licensure to the City of Cheyenne Building Department, registering employees and related fees.
