11 hours of board-approved continuing education are required each 2-year period prior to the renewal of certified electrical contractors performing alarm work. The continuing education must include 7 hours on technical subjects (including 1 hour of FBC advanced module course and 2 hours of false alarm prevention), 1 hour on workers’ compensation, 1 hour on workplace safety, 1 hour on business practices, and 1 hour of laws and rules.
