Passing an ICC contractor exam is NOT a license to practice and does not guarantee licensing in any jurisdiction. The International Code Council is not a licensing agency. If you want to become licensed in a city, county, or state that participates with the Code Council, that jurisdiction will require you to take and pass a Code Council examination. Upon successful completion of the examination, contact the jurisdiction for any other requirements in order to become licensed.

Exam Details

• The ICC G24-N Master Plumber Exam has 100 questions and a time limit of 4 hours. The ICC G25-N Journeyman Plumber Exam has 70 questions and a time limit of 3 hours.

• Topics on the examinations include Administration General Regulations, Plumbing Fixtures, Water Supply and Distribution, Sanitary Drainage, Plumbing Vent Requirements, Traps, Interceptors, and Separators, and Storm Drainage.

• The ICC G24-N and G25-N National Journeyman/Master Plumber Exams are designed to assess the knowledge and competency of individuals. The exams usually consists of multiple-choice questions that cover various aspects of plumbing including:

• Administration General Regulations: This section may cover General Installation Requirements, Code Definitions and Terms Plan Reading, Testing, and Materials.
