This license includes the construction, removal, repair, or improvement to any framing or rough carpentry necessary for the construction of framed structures.

The Virginia Framing Subcontractor Exam is an open book 120-minute exam that requires a 70% score to pass. To use your time efficiently in the exam, it is extremely helpful to prepare in-depth and have your book tabbed and highlighted prior to the exam. Highlighting, tabs and written notes in reference materials are permitted prior to arriving at the test site. However, during the exam you may not write in the reference materials.
Exam Overview
The name used to schedule your appointment must exactly match the name shown on your identification. At a minimum, the identification must be a valid, government-issued ID that shows your name in the English alphabet, your signature, your photograph.
