The Virginia Home Improvement Exam is required to be passed if you are applying for the HIC classification. This license allows for repairs or improvements to one-family and two-family residential buildings or structures annexed to real property. How Do I Get My License?

- Submit your application, licensing fee and proof of insurance.
Requirements To Get A License
- You must also obtain a Contractor’s Class A, B, or C License
- Pass the Home Improvement exam (pre-approval is required)
- Pass all three required exams (Virginia, General, & Advanced)
