Oklahoma generally does not require a general contractor license at the state level. However, there are a number of specialty trades that do require contractor licenses. All plumbing, electrical, and mechanical work is regulated at the state level in Oklahoma. Nonresident contractors are required to register with the Oklahoma Tax Commission by calling 405-521-3160.
