Who needs a Georgia Plumbing License?
The state of Georgia requires a contractors license for work over $2,500 issued by the Georgia State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors.
To obtain your contractor license in Georgia, candidates must complete the application and pass two examinations: Business and Law, and the Construction Exam. Additional requirements include a four-year college or university degree in a related field and one year of work experience; or a combination of college-level accredited courses and practical experience totaling four years’; or four years of work experience in a construction-related field with at least two years employed as a general contractor and one year in related fields such as marketing, management or administration. Applicants must also show proof of net worth, worker’s compensation and general liability insurance.
According to the State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors, applicants must also show proof of general liability insurance.

Time Limits
Journeyman: You will have a total of 5 hours to complete the Journeyman exam. The exam will be administered in two parts. You will have 2.5 hours to complete part 1, followed by a break. You will then have 2.5 hours to complete part 2.
Master Class I: You will have a total of 7 hours to complete the Master Class I exam. The exam will be administered in two parts. You will have 3.5 hours to complete part 1, followed by a break. You will then have 3.5 hours to complete part 2.
Master Class II: You will have a total of 7 hours to complete the Master Class II exam. The exam will be administered in two parts. You will have 3.5 hours to complete part 1, followed by a break. You will then have 3.5 hours to complete part 2.

The Georgia Plumbing Exam is designed to assess the knowledge and competency of individuals seeking to become licensed plumbers in Georgia. The exam usually consists of multiple-choice questions that cover various aspects of plumbing and contracting. These exams could cover topics including but not limited to:
Construction Practices: This section may cover different construction techniques, material selection, construction sequencing, and best practices in residential and small commercial construction.
