Licensing Information
Requirements To Get A License
Effective 11/1/2016 you will need to be pre-approved by NASCLA before you may take the examination. An application must be filed with NASCLA and they must approve the application. Once an individual is approved, the individual’s name is forwarded from NASCLA to PSI. PSI will then send the applicant an email confirmation with information to register to take the examination.
The eligibility will be valid for one (1) year. You may take the examination 3 times within that one (1) year period. If you do not pass within the one (1) year period, you will need to reapply with NASCLA. To apply online, visit NASCLA’s website here.
All NASCLA licensees are still required to meet other state licensing regulations in order to obtain a license in any accepting state.
These requirements include taking the State Business Law Exam and submitting a State Board Contractor License Application.
How Do I Get My License
- Go to the NASCLA National Examination Database: https://ned.nascla.org/
- Cost is $106 plus $25 application fee.

Meet Your Exam Prep Guide
Andrew Hager knows how to help you pass the contractor’s exam.
Andrew is a former licensed general contractor who worked directly for industry legend J.J. Johnson – spanning back well over three decades. To this day, Andrew values and benefits from Jud’s mentorship and considers his association as the standard that elevates our company above and beyond.
When J.J. was ready to step back from the busyness of conducting live seminars up and down the east coast, he hand-picked Andrew to lead the company and continue to give students the same high-quality instruction and service that Contractors Seminars is famous for.
