Requirements To Obtain a Vermont Electrical (Journeyman, Master) License
A Vermont licensed master electrician is entitled to design, install, repair, maintain, and replace electrical installations including lightning rods, fire alarms, fire detection systems and may employ other persons licensed under Vermont licensing statues or electrician’s helpers to perform work in connection with electrical installations under his or her direction.
A Vermont licensed journeyman electrician is entitled to perform electrical installations under the direction of a master electrician, and may supervise an apprentice electrician or an electrician’s helper employed by a master electrician under the master electrician’s direction.

The Vermont Electrical (Journeyman, Master) Exam is an open book exam that requires you to score within 10 points of the required 70% passing score. To use your time efficiently in the exam, it is extremely helpful to prepare in-depth and have your book tabbed and highlighted prior to the exam. Highlighting, tabs and written notes in reference materials are permitted prior to arriving at the test site. However, during the exam you may not write in the reference materials.
