Requirements To Obtain a NASCLA-Accredited Trade Examination For Electrical Contractor license
The NASCLA Accredited Examination Program was designed to assist contractors and tradesmen who wish to be licensed in multiple jurisdictions by offering a streamlined test taking option for the trade portion of the examination.
The NASCLA-Accredited Trade Examination For Electrical Contractor Exam is a 100 questions in this examination. You will need to answer 75 questions correctly in order to pass. You are allowed 270 minutes to complete this examination. To use your time efficiently in the exam, it is extremely helpful to prepare in-depth and have your book tabbed and highlighted prior to the exam. Highlighting, tabs and written notes in reference materials are permitted prior to arriving at the test site. However, during the exam you may not write in the reference materials.
The NASCLA Accredited Electrical Examination Program consists of three (3) open book examinations, one (1) for each of the following job types:
Electrical Contractors (Master/Unlimited Electricians): One who conducts business in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical work conforming to applicable standards and codes.
Journeyman Electricians: An individual who has demonstrated competency in the knowledge and skills needed to properly perform the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical work conforming to applicable standards and codes.
Residential Electrical Contractors (Residential Electricians): One who demonstrates competency in performing electrical installations, service, repair and maintenance typically encountered in a permanent dwelling unit.
