North Carolina Concrete (S) Contractor License Online Exam Prep Complete Package

This course is designed to prepare you for the North Carolina Concrete Contractor Exam. The program takes you through each one of the reference books that are recommended to study while preparing for the examination showing you exactly what to highlight. After your highlighting is completed with each book, you have the option take an online practice test to reinforce concepts presented. Also, there is an extensive math and plans analysis portion. The program combines narration, animation, practice tests, and outlines to give you the most complete exam review experience online. The highlighting guides and quizzes are designed to familiarize students with testing materials. We do not provide students with exact test questions, as the state does not release this information.
IMPORTANT UPDATE
Per NC.gov:
“Update: November 11, 2025 – As of this date, the conditions of Section 5.12 (b) (see page 2) have not been met. This means that the effective date of the 2024 Building Code will be more than 12 months away. The earliest possible date is January 1, 2027, but that date has not been confirmed.”
IMPORTANT UPDATE: All examinations pertaining to licenses will use the 2018 Editions of the Codes through at least March 31, 2026, and until such date that the 2024 codes are made effective. The NC Governor’s signature of the Disaster Recovery act has now delayed the effective date of the new codes for at least one year, meaning that the 2024 codes will not become effective until some time after April 1, 2026.

- Submit your application, licensing fee and proof of insurance.
Requirements To Get A License
To obtain a license you must complete the Application for License to Practice General Contracting in the State of North Carolina which is available on the Boards website at www.nclbgc.org. The application must fully comply with all requirements established by the Board’s statutes and rules.
The North Carolina Concrete Contractor Exam requires applicants to:
- be at least 18 years old,
- possess good moral character, as determined by the Board
- provide evidence of financial responsibility, as determined by the Board
- submit the appropriate application fee
- Pass a North Carolina Classification Exam(s)
