Do I need a Plumber’s License in Georgia?

Applying for Your Plumber’s License 

  You must apply for your licenses from the Georgia Board of Construction Industry. The application includes a non-refundable fee of $30. The application will need your documentation of experience as well. You can contact the board or download the application from the board’s website. You have to send in your application at least 45 days before a scheduled exam, so the board has time to approve the application and allow you to schedule your test. The final step in the application process is to sit and pass the Georgia Plumber’s Exam.   

Preparing for the Exam 

  The Georgia Board offers exams multiple times a year, and it is up to you to schedule a time that works with your schedule to take the exam. Your CE hours must be from state approved courses and can be taken online or in the classroom. Georgia requires that your hours focus on the work you do and fall under these categories:

  • Products, tools, and materials
  • Innovations and new techniques
  • Safety
  The CE requirements for master plumbers must come from the categories listed above, but may also include:
