Anyone seeking to be licensed as a concrete contractor in North Carolina shall file an application for an examination on a form provided by the Board, at least 30 days before any regular or special meeting of the Board. Applicants must submit a completed application to get pre-approval from the State Licensing Board to take the exam. This course is designed to prepare you for the North Carolina Concrete Contractor Exam.   2. Pass the exam.
  3. Submit your application, licensing fee and proof of insurance.

Requirements To Get A License

To obtain a license you must complete the Application for License to Practice General Contracting in the State of North Carolina which is available on the Boards website at www.nclbgc.org.  The application must fully comply with all requirements established by the Board’s statutes and rules.

The North Carolina Concrete Contractor Exam requires applicants to:

  • be at least 18 years old,
  • possess good moral character, as determined by the Board
  • provide evidence of financial responsibility, as determined by the Board
  • submit the appropriate application fee
  • Pass a North Carolina Classification Exam(s)
